Children's Health Initiatives

Edinburgh Community Food Initiative (ECFI) currently runs 3 Children’s Health Initiatives and works with children up to 11 years of age to increase both the amount and variety of fruit and vegetables consumed by children within the educational setting, and to increase acceptability and recognition of a broader range of fruit and vegetables from the earliest age.

Each of the projects is coordinated by a full time development worker and is based on ECFI’s philosophy of provide and promote. The key aim of each initiative, as with the community work that ECFI supports, is to overcome the key barriers to healthy eating.
